  Anxiety, Depression and OCD Specialist

Offering one to one help in Bristol & Bath-UK.

Welcome to the site and thank you for visiting. The purpose of this site is two-fold. Firstly, it's a site created to tell you a bit about myself and what I have to offer in terms of helping you to overcome your Anxiety, Depression, or OCD.  Secondly and perhaps more importantly, it's a website offering free practical information to sufferers of these conditions to aid you in understanding your condition and how you can go about overcoming it!

Anxiety disorders are miserable. I know that because I went through years of serious anxiety and depression throughout my twenties. Now in my mid-thirties, I am pleased to report excellent health, and it has been this way for a good few years now. Why am I telling you this? Well, because I want you to know that you can recover. It is possible to recover from anxiety and depression...even serious anxiety and depression. It is even possible to recover from OCD. The problem is......as any sufferer will tell you....for the best will in the world, if you don't know HOW to recover from these illnesses then we usually end up using an enormous amount of energy (that we really feel we don't have anyway!) and going nowhere fast. Recovery therefore really requires understanding. These conditions are tricky to overcome. Causal factors are often numerous, and sometimes not obvious to the sufferer. Something I often remind my clients though is that "Anxiety and depression doesn't fall out of the sky on us!", by which I mean that we are nearly always contributing in some way to the day to day continuation of the disorder. That's not to place blame on a sufferer.  It may well feel to the sufferer as though anxiety falling out of the sky on us is exactly what is happening, but the recognition that we are co-creators of these disorders should be welcome news. Why? Well, it means that you have some measure of control. It means that there are steps you can take to reduce anxiety and regain control of your life. This is why understanding is everything with these difficulties, because once you understand how anxiety is being maintained on a daily basis then it become possible to make changes and overcome the condition.
